retirement of Alastair Cook

While all cricket fans have been mulling over the retirement of Alastair Cook, in some breaking news coming in another 33 yeard old English Player is all set to call it a day. Yes, you read that right.

In some breaking news coming in Ladies and Gentlemen, Katherine Brunt, who is England’s second highest wicket-taker and 9th highest overall in Women’s One Day International Cricket has announced that she would hang up her boots after the World T20 in November. This will certainly be a huge blow to the ‘Poms’ as it will leave a huge gap as far as their fast bowling department is concerned. Just like Alastair Cook, an athlete of the ability of Brunt would certainly be hard to replace.

When asked if she would try her hands at coaching, the fast bowler had a very interesting take on the same. Brunt expressed that she would love to try her hands on coaching but would not like to get into the commercial aspect of it. “If I do any coaching after I retire it’ll be private, one-to-one. And it would only be someone with the same fire and passion that I had when I was their age. If I can see some of that in them, I’ll commit to it wholeheartedly.” Katherine Brunt said.

She also added that she would love to do some commentary by which she could get her personality across people and get to be real. As far as the T20 World Cup is concerned, the tournament is all set to get underway on the 9th of November in Guyana and Katherine dreams to end it on a high by bringing the cup back home for the ‘Three Lions’.

Cricket wishes more ‘Power’ to Katherine Brunt- The Number 9 Wicket-Taker in the history of Women’s ODI Cricket with 127 wickets to her name at an average of 23.80.
